San Giljan were a different proposition from the the team that succumbed to exiles a couple of days before, but the champions always had that little extra in reserve, which took them through to another victory.
Identical scores in the first two sessions had Sliema on a double advantage by the interval, but after the break San Giljan showed their mettle, and managed to draw level, and start the last quarter on an even basis.
Sliema had other ideas, and powered their way to a good advantage, which prevented the Saints from making a late rally. This game saw the return of the Italian referees, along with the local ones, in top level matches.
Both sides scored four times on their man ups, with the notable difference, that Sliema made full use of their extra player,on each occasion that they had, but the Saints lost too many occasions, failing seven times.
Bigdan Rath rattled in five goals for the chamipons, although he was hanging on with two personal fouls. John Soler also grabbed a hat trick, with Aljosa Kunac and Jerome Gabarretta on two goals, the latter with two late strikes. Heiko Nossek put in three goals for San Giljan, and Edward Aquilina scored twice against his old club.
San Giljan replied to Sliema's first two goals, but the champions were a goal in front after the first session. Sliema extended their advantage, but the Saints were back, although a couple of goals behind at the interval, on 4-6.
The third period saw the Saints rally back solidly, and despite missing two more man ups, they were still able to overhaul the champions, at 7-7, before the last session began. San Giljan replied once more to another Sliema goal, but then the champions scored on three consecutive occasions, and San Giljan had a mountain to climb. They twice pulled back a goal, but Sliema are made of stern stuff, and netted twice more, in the remaining time, for a better scoreline.

Exiles followed up on their prestigious victory over San Giljan, just two days before, and claimed another win, this time over Marsaskala. They didn't have it all their own way, but after having to share the spoils in the opening period, Exiles then began to edge away from their adversaries, and managed to win the other three sessions.
They opened up a good advantage after the interval, and though there was a Marsaskala response, they were only cutting down on the deficit. They could have gone nearer, in the last session, but missed a couple of man ups, and Exiles made sure in the next few minutes of play.
Exiles could have done better in their extra player occasions, but only scored twice from five favourable expulsions.
Marsaskala started well, and netted on three occasions from four, but then frittered away their last two, with Exiles punishing them with three consecutive goals. John Paris gave us glimpses of his former prowess, scoring four times, in his favourite position, in the hole. The two foreigners, Cosmin Floran Bonca and Aurelien Cousin, each grabbed a brace of goals, as did captain, Timmy Sulliovan. On Marsaskala's part there were three goals each for their two foreign elements, Botond Szabo and Milos Koralji, and John Licari put in two more strikes.
After a drawn first session, with Marsaskala levelling on three occasions, Exiles managed to forge in front till the break, with a single goal advantage, at 6-5. Three goals in a row had Exiles on a sound lead, but Marsaskala cut down to 7-10, by teh start of the last period. Then came the two missed chances, and Exiles made sure with a triple strike. Marsaskala had two late Szabo goals, but had to concede their fifth defeat. Exiles now are on a good three win situation, from six matches.
